We ask that you host 2-3 one-on-one meetings with your mentees throughout CodeDay Labs. These don't have to be scheduled in any regular schedule.

Objectives for 1:1 Meetings

• Review individual progress and goals
• Discuss specific problems they've encountered
• Learn about their interests in technology, and provide advice
• Share more about your own history and path

Suggested Agenda

It's hard to set a regular agenda for 1-1s, but it can be helpful to have a list of questions to spark discussion.

In addition to taking inspiration from your normal work 1-1s, you might find these lists by Small Improvements and Culture Amp helpful.

We also recommend that, at some point during CodeDay Labs, you ask these questions:

• What have you enjoyed about studying CS so far?
• What are your aspirations for the future?
• What are your concerns about going into the tech industry?
• Do you know what type of company you want to work for, or what problems you want to solve?

Sharing your own experience is a great way to help your mentees find their place in the tech industry.
