Code Evangelist®

Who has this role: This role is assigned by CodeDay and requires special training. If you want to become a Code Evangelist, reach out to your CodeDay contact.

Responsible for: creating the right culture, keeping things fun, making sure students are getting the right help.

Supervises: mentors, volunteers leading activities.

Event Manager

Who has this role: This role is assigned by the RM. (And is often, but not always, the RM themselves!)

Responsible for: keeping on schedule; backend logistics (e.g. meals)

Supervises: volunteers for setup, meals, and supply runs.

Mentors

Who has this role: Professional programmers who volunteer, as well as any floaters who are well-versed in programming.

Responsible for: helping students learn to think like a programmer!

Floaters (General Volunteers)

Who has this role: At any point if you don’t have an assigned task, you are a floater.

Responsible for: Patrolling the event —

• Talk to students to learn what they’re working on and what excites them about technology. Talk about your own experiences.
• Be a mentor.
